Toshiba is introducing a new range of Power TV displays aimed specifically at the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) market, a group of 10 countries including Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Brunei, Burma, Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam.
The big difference with the Power TV line is that they include a rechargeable battery allowing up to 2 hours of viewing without being plugged in. Toshiba has done this so as to offer consumers in areas where power supply can be uncertain the ability to watch TV uninterrupted. So they won’t miss the end of a film, or that all important sports match.
An uncertain power supply usually means poor signals too, so Toshiba has also incorporated Auto Signal Booster and Auto View features to maximize the picture quality being displayed.
The first models will be 24? or 32? making them a good size as a main TV. There’s no information on pricing yet.
Alongside the Power TV introduction Toshiba added two more mainstream TV releases. The first is the 55-inch CELL REGZA 55ZL800 3D LED using the CEVO engine, and the other is a 46? or 55? 29mm thick WL700 series of slim LED TV.
